DMHC Directs Health Plans to Help Wildfire Impacted Members Access Health Care Services, Prescriptions

The DMHC issued an All Plan Letter (APL) directing health plans to make sure plan members impacted by the wildfires in Southern California can continue to access all medically necessary health care services, including prescription drugs.

DMHC Fines Anthem Blue Cross $3.5 Million for Mishandling Member Complaints

The DMHC fined Blue Cross of California (Anthem Blue Cross) $3.5 million for failing to handle health plan member complaints, also known as grievances or appeals, in a timely manner. The plan admitted it failed to follow the law and has paid the $3.5 million fine.
