Am I required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)?
Yes and No! Some jobs require an SOQ, and other jobs do not. If an SOQ is required, it will be specified in the Application instructions.
What happens after I submit my application?
The hiring manager will be notified of your application, and it will be reviewed and scored.
- After your application has been reviewed, HR will do a Minimum Qualifications check and let the hiring manager know whether you are eligible to be considered for an interview.
- If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified by email or phone and an interview will be scheduled.
- You will participate in the interview process (with a multi-person panel). Finalists may be asked back for a second interview, technical evaluation, or informal meeting.
Does the DMHC offer full-time telework?
No. The DMHC supports a hybrid telework schedule which requires employees to report to one of the DMHC offices (located in Downtown Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, or at some point in the future - Los Angeles, California) for a minimum of two days per work week, with the remainder of the work week being conducted from an approved alternate work location or home office. When working in the office, employees are required to utilize a shared or “hotel” workspace. You may also choose to work full time from one of our office locations. Please note that you must work from within the State of California during the entirety of your employment with the DMHC.
Can I live anywhere in the world and still telework?
No. You must reside in the State of California and remain a resident in order to work for the DMHC.
Are all positions governed by a union collective bargaining agreement?
No. Manager, Supervisor and IT Specialist III positions are not governed by a collective bargaining agreement.
